This Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise bag is very high quality. It’s sophisticated appearance is accentuated by it’s pebbled leather finish, which also creates a texture that feels high quality and high class. The bag is perfectly sized for daily use, and is definitely durable enough for it.

Kate Spade Cedar Street Maise Review

The Good

This bag is gorgeous! I love everything about Kate Spade, one of my go-to bags being the Wellesley Quinn. This bag has a lot more whimsy than the Wellesley, though, and is a better bag for day to day activities.

This is considered a “smaller bag”, and it’s zippered top would make it a good choice for travel, since you’ll be able to secure your belongings. Even though it’s smaller, it seems to me to have almost as much room as a mid sized bag. It’s definitely not as small as the Mini Mac, but not quite as large as some of the handbags that call themselves “mid size”.

The crossbody strap is adjustable and removable, and the connecting hardware along with the zippers on this bag are durable and pretty. I really do love the leather that this bag is made of, and it’s texturing. The textured leather on The Celeste Blue that we’re reviewing really makes the purse pop, while the stitching is high quality and really sets it off.

The Bad

There’s not too much to not like about the Cedar Street Maise. One thing that I wish it was is a little bit bigger. Yes, I realize that if it were any bigger it would be considered a mid-size bag, but this one really does feel more like a mid size, in a small form factor. This is a minor gripe though, as the bag still looks great on me.

Also, I wish that the cross-body strap was as adjustable as the Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC. It is removable, which is fine.

Final Verdict

Over all I love this bag, and plan on keeping it for a while. It’s durability, smart stylish look, textured leather and nice hardware makes for a very nice bag, despite the very minor shortcoming that the strap isn’t as adjustable as I’d like.
